STUDIO LIGHTING COURSE
We’ve all seen the image of photographers in studios – models being made up, clothes being styled, poses being adjusted and lights flashing to the sounds of shutters clicking away. The results – faultless pictures; light touching the models in a teasing and pleasing way, perfect skin tones, zero blemishes, ready for their rightful place in the pages of fashion magazines.
If you have good insight into the use of a DSLR camera and a level of competence in taking daylight pictures and you now want to be one of those studio photographers for a day – then we have the perfect course for you.
This one day Studio Lighting Course will get you comfortable with the equipment and your newly found working environment. We will gain familiarity with each of the available lighting sources and modifiers and get insight into how to achieve those magazine shots.
We will work with the tools of the professional – gaining an understanding of handheld light meters to get that perfect exposure, balancing light and utilising different backdrops to experience the effects that can be achieved.
Once we have this understanding we will then progress to ‘doing it for real’. Working with a model, learning how to communicate with and putting your model at ease whilst getting the picture you want.
From camera we then take your selected shots to post production and learn how to retouch each image to get to the magazine ready quality we commonly see whilst flicking through our favourite magazines.
This is an ideal course for those that have completed the foundation course and now want to progress to the studio.
